Pipe Fittings Manufacturing Process

Manufacturing Process Of Pipe Fittings - Bhansali Steel

Pipe Fittings are the components used for changing the flow of supply like water, gas and other fluids. Pipe Fittings Manufacturing Process includes of manufacturing of Elbow, Tee, and Reducers. We supply high-quality Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings, and ASME/ANSI B16.9 Pipe Fittings to a variety of industries all around the world. With many years of experience in this industry, we as a Pipe Fittings Manufacturers has been able to achieve several things such as providing the best quality products, delivering the ordered products on time, inspecting the quality of materials regularly, and providing the best available services to our customer's. Manufacturing Process of Pipe Fittings are given below.

Pipe Fittings Manufacturing Process for Elbow, Reducers, Tee & Cap

Mandrel Method/Hot Forming Method

  • One of the most popular processes for manufacturing elbows from pipes
  • The raw material is heated before being forced over a "mandrel" die, which enables the pipe to expand and bend at the same time. suitable for a large size range
  • The integrated shape and dimensions of the mandrel have a significant impact on the mandrel's bending characteristics.
  • Hot mandrel bending offers advantages over other bending method types in terms of minor thickness deviation and shorter bending radius for elbows.

Extrusion Method/Cold Forming Method

  • A pipe the same diameter as the completed product is forced through a die in the cold extrusion process to take on the desired shape. Typically used on small to medium-sized elbows made of stainless steel.

“UO” Method (Welding)

  • This technique, known as the UO method, involves cutting out a plate into a specifically specified shape by first shaping it with a die into a U-shape and then with another die into an O-shape or tubular form. The fittings are welded from the inside and outside of the closing seam once they have been moulded into tumbler shapes. A sliced plate is initially shaped in the U shape, then the O shape.

Hot Forming Die Bending Method

  • Before beginning any process, the pipe is inspected using this method. Pipe is then formed into an ellipse using the die indicated in the photo after being cut to the desired length. It bends in another die to create an elbow with a specific radius. The elbow is heated up in the subsequent stage. The product is ultimately finished by shot blasting, cleaning, beveling, and coating.

Tee Manufacturing

Hydraulic Bulge Method (Cold Forming)

  • Hydraulic pressure pulls the branch out of the fixed opening in the hydraulic die after the cut section of pipe has been placed in the die and filled with liquid.
  • This process produces a high-quality surface finish. However, this process cannot be used to produce larger thickness tees.

“Monaka” Method

  • This manufacturing process uses steel plates as the basic material, similar to how elbows are made..
  • In this technique, two raw material plate pieces are cut out symmetrically, press-formed, and joined together.

Hot Extrusion Method

  • In the hot extrusion method, a pipe with a diameter that is typically larger than the completed product size is employed, and an extrusion tool is used to extrude the branch exit from the pipe.
  • If necessary, additional body and branch dimensions can be changed by pushing the die.
